Hi Everyone, I am Raquel Owner of ThavinMarcob. ThavinMarcob is a company I created and established in my Livingroom. It is also the company that I run and maintain alongside my wonderful and very supportive family. My boutique can easily be found online at ThavinMarcob.com  Fun side note, we actually have just grown and moved into a new larger space out in Oak Harbor Washington. I am truly thrilled and honored to have been given the opportunity and platform to share my brand, my company, and a little bit about myself with all of you.

1. How long have you been blogging?

My blogging adventure began about two years ago. Blogging was not something I had intentionally planned on pursuing when I started ThavinMarcob.com. After the first few months, I discovered I needed a way for people to learn and become acquainted with our brand ThavinMarcob. As a solution, I decided to start a blog. I wanted to have the ability to establish a no strings attached avenue for current, future, and past customers to be able to visit and to get to know us as a company, as a brand, and as a family.

2. Are you a full-time blogger or do you also have another job/career?

ThavinMarcob both online and at our physical location is completely run by my family and I. This means two very big things. One, I get the opportunity to work alongside some of the best people that I know and love. Two, there is a lot of work that must be done and a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. It’s a lot of work to own and run your own company, but I love it and there is nothing I would rather be doing. Since blogging was a tool I used to help people become familiar with ThavinMarcob combined with all of the other projects that I have going on. Blogging for me is a part-time gig. Nonetheless, I love it, truly and wholly. It is a great way for my team and myself to stay connected with our customers. I love being able to share all our crazy adventures, favorite tips, and tricks, and go to home recipes. In all honesty, the best part of blogging for me is having the ability to share my love of fashion with people I might not have met if it wasn’t for our blog.

3. What got you started into blogging?

I wanted to create an atmosphere where it was possible to see the people behind the name ThavinMarcob. I found that blogging was the best avenue to create such an atmosphere. I wanted to have the ability to share our struggles, our adventures, our goals, and aspirations with others. As we grow I wanted people to see and feel our appreciation for their business, support, and community love. I wanted to be able to provide as much transparency with our customers as possible. I do not wish to be a faceless company that seems unreachable. As I stated before that was one of the main reasons why I started the blog. I want people to see that we are family owned and operated. That we care and work hard. That they can easily contact us and receive an actual answer from someone who can do something about it.

4. What is your blog about and how does it help others?

Our blog, in short, can be classified as a lifestyle blog for the most part. We love to share fashion trends, recipes, adventures, tips and tricks, news/updates, and plenty more. We are a Family Owned and Operated Business. We know first hand how hard it can be to get your name out there for people to learn about your amazing company, that you exist, and that you are working hard. Which is why we offer guest blog opportunities as well as advertising opportunities. We love to support those who are just starting their adventure into entrepreneurship, blogging, or business. This wholesome genuine love is what inspired us to give the opportunity for other entrepreneurs to use our Lifestyle Blog as a way to reach a different audience. We know that everything helps when it comes to building an online presence, so we want to be there for other Small Businesses. ThavinMarcob is a family Owned Business that wants to show and share the love with others.

5. What is working for you and your blog? Why?

We have found that taking and using Blog Topics that reflect our everyday lives works amazingly well on our blog. It is a lot easier and a lot more fun to write about topics that we have personally experienced. We have tried following a formal content marketing calendar of topics, but we have found that inspiration and interest can get lost very quickly. When that happens, we seem to run into frustration and annoyance. Which in my opinion takes all the fun out of blogging and we believe that our readers can sense when we do not put our hearts into our blogs. Another thing that works for our Lifestyle Blog is that we love is to ask our audience what topics they would like to see from us. We love doing this because it shows our audience that we do listen and having interaction makes things feel less one-sided for us. After 200+ blogs it is a nice change of pace.

6. What did not work out so well for your blog? Why?

When the idea of a starting a blog first popped up. I just said, “Yes, let’s do it”. I didn’t have a clear picture of what I wanted to achieve, where I wanted it to go, or even if it was really something that would help ThavinMarcob grow into what I wanted it to be. Just starting a blogging and posting was great in the aspect of I didn’t over analyze. However, by not truly having a clear picture I will be honest when I say I did waste some time. It was a lessoned learned and no time was truly wasted, but if I would have had more of a clear picture. I could have been working towards my overall goal a lot sooner.

7. What tools are you using that you can introduce my readers to?

There are two Key tools that we use to keep our ThavinMarcob Lifestyle Blog productive and efficient. The First is a Scheduling Tool. This tool allows us to write up a complete blog post and then schedule it to have it be put online at another time. This tool really helps when I need to get ahead of things. I can bust my butt for a few days and have two weeks’ worth of blogs done and scheduled. This creates free time for me to do other things instead of worrying about remembering to publish a blog that day. The second key tool that we use is UnSplash.  This is a website where you can pull free unlicensed photos from. Since I do wear so many hats being an entrepreneur. I do not necessarily always have time to take our own photos. So, when I find myself in a pickle as such. I simply go over to UnSplash, browse their amazing selection of photos, and then attach the image to my blog. Not only does this tool help save me some time, it also presents us with the great opportunity to publish and cite some amazing work form so exquisite photographers.

8. What piece of advice would you give to someone who is interested in starting a blog?

The best piece of advice I could give anyone is to simply be you. Your strength, your mindset, your courage, your heart, all of that and more will make it across to your readers. The more you are true to yourself the more readers you will have come back to see what you are up to. You can never beat just being genuine.

9. What do you have planned for the future of your website?

Our plan for the near and far future is to keep growing. We want to keep growing our audience through our blog. As well as through our social media accounts. We want people to get to know us and to feel like they truly do know us and not just ThavinMarcob. I want people to feel like they are not just shopping with any old retailer. When we have people visit our physical location or our website. I want people to feel like they are shopping with me, Raquel the owner. I want there to be that sense of familiarity and comfort. For instance, in the last several months we have taken steps to further create an avenue for interaction with my customers and myself. Through each of these avenues such as our physical location, our website, our blog, and our guest blog opportunities we have created several ways for people to come and interact with us. As well as a way for people to get to know me because in each project I do I always make sure to share bits and pieces about myself.

10. Where can everyone find you?

I hope you have a wonderful day. Make sure to check out our Website and other Social Medias we would love to see you.
