My name is Al and I blog at asimple-view.blog. Here, you will find information focused on inspiring men, women, and children in life, health, and fitness. Currently, I live in the United States in the state of Ohio and in the city referred to as Buckeye Nation.
When I am not writing, I am either physically working out in the gym or reading some article or technical book. I like to spend the time either riding the bike, walking/hiking the trails, or involved in resistance training. I also enjoy going to concerts, plays and sporting events.
1. How long have you been blogging?
I started blogging around August of 2017. It began with a thought to share my “encouraging attitude”, Eventually it morphed into sharing that passion through writing.
2. Are you a full-time blogger or do you also have another job/career?
I am not a full-time blogger. Currently, I work a cool full-time job in the transportation industry as a railroad manager. It is quite rewarding.
3. What got you started into blogging?
I had a passion to motivate and encourage others. While discussing with others, it was brought to my attention about blogging to share the passion. After a bit of research, I found a website hosting platform that could help me in sharing my writings. I signed up, provided the information and the rest is history.
4. What is your blog about and how does it help others?
I covered that in the intro, but it’s about inspiring men, women, and children in life, health, and fitness.
5. What is working for you and your blog? Why?
I believe an open and positive attitude is what is working for me and my blogging experience. Why? Because positivity is magnetic. It is what gives someone hope in what otherwise looks like a bleak situation. Individuals are attracted to that and deep down can always use a bit of encouragement.
6. What did not work out so well for your blog? Why?
So far, I cannot say that much has not worked for the blog. Although, I have not quite gotten in a years’ worth of blogging, thus far, the strategies used, seem to work. My strategy to approach blogging as a way to build relationships first is slow-paced and organic, not quick and non-meaningful.
7. What tools are you using that you can introduce my readers to?
When the door opened to blogging I immediately made an investment in a new MacBook Pro for all my video and word processing. This was my first Mac so I was excited! I then became familiar with the WordPress Web hosting platform which allowed me the portal to share my passion. So glad I signed up! For photo sources and editing I use a variety of programs. Picture editing I use Canva and PiC Monkey. Google, Getty, and Pixabay are all used for getting Images. Of course, I use my trusty iPhone to capture on the spot images as well. For word processing, I use pages that comes with the Mac Suite. Finally, for all videos, I use a combination of either a Sony Cybershot, my iPhone, or a Canon T6i.
8. What piece of advice would you give to someone who is interested in starting a blog?
I would advise them to not get discouraged after starting their blog. I say this because there can be a natural tendency for one to lose hope after possibly not getting the attention or traffic expected. Not all of us are celebrities who customarily have huge followings. So understanding this will help one to think of growing their community with patience organically.
9. Where can everyone find you?
