March 9, 2018 4 Comments

Welcome to the second edition of Featured Writer Friday!!
My second guest blogger is Parris Elizabeth and she writes at parriselizabeth.wordpress.com.  Today, she’ll talk about her blogging experience and share a few blogging tips with you.
On to our second featured writer!!

Our Featured Writer Friday Writer is Parris Elizabeth.

Our Featured Writer Friday Writer is Parris Elizabeth.

My name is Parris and I have a blog over at www.parriselizabeth.wordpress.com. I blog mainly about Beauty, Lifestyle, and Parenting. I live in Norwich a city in Norfolk, UK. When I’m not blogging I’m usually taking care of my baby boy, Cole.

1. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging since November 2016, but only made my blog public in November 2017.

2. Are you a full-time blogger or do you also have another job/career?
I do have another job, I work as an administration assistant in infection control at my local hospital, but I am currently on maternity leave.

3. What got you started into blogging?
I have always enjoyed writing; whether it be a diary, short stories or reviews. I did enjoy the bits I did on my personal blog but I wanted somewhere that I could showcase my creative written work. So I started Writing from the Heart blog and it helped to ignite my love for the written word.

4. What is your blog about and how does it help others?
My blog is mainly Beauty, Lifestyle, and Parenting. I hope that it helps others to find new products to try and a little bit of advice on taking care of a new baby!

5. What is working for you and your blog? Why?
Since making my blog public I have found that just writing what I enjoy and sharing it on social media has created a lot of new opportunities for me. This is because I’ve been able to grow my following and share my blog with more people not that numbers matter because I’d still write even if no one read my blog. I just find it rewarding to know these people are interested in what I have to say. It has also opened up the opportunity to make new friends which I have done.

6. What did not work out so well for your blog? Why?
I feel that my blog photos did not work out so well for my blog as they weren’t very professional looking and weren’t edited the way I wanted them to be. I have since changed the style of my photography and continue to progress in making images I’m happy with.

7. What tool are you using that you can introduce my readers to?
I use WordPress to create drafts and save ideas before writing my posts. I also have photoshop express on my phone or photoshop cs6 on my laptop for editing images.

8. What piece of advice would you give to someone who is interested in starting a blog?
I would encourage them to start their blog and just write about what they enjoy and what makes them happy because I believe as long as they are passionate about something people will read it!

9. Where can everyone find you?
